Who I am
Simply Button Solutions is run by Jamie Button, sole trader, based in Bristol and working across the UK. I am the data controller for this website. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number ZC112934.
What this website collects
There are no contact forms, no sign-up, no login and no shop on this website. There is nowhere for you to submit information, and nothing you do here is stored against your name.
The site does use Google Analytics to count visits. That records which pages were viewed, roughly which country or region the visit came from, what kind of device was used, and which website or search you arrived from. To do that, Google Analytics stores a small file (a cookie) on your device and processes your IP address. I use this only to see which pages are worth keeping and which are not.
How to stop it
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the site will work exactly the same. Google also publish a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
If you email or call me
If you contact me using the email address or phone number on this site, that goes to my normal inbox or phone, not through the website. I keep that correspondence so I can reply to you and for my own business and tax records.
I do not add anyone to a mailing list. I do not sell, rent or share anyone's details with anyone else.
How long anything is kept
Analytics data is kept for Google's standard retention period and is not linked to a name. Email correspondence is kept as long as I need it to do the work and to meet HMRC record-keeping requirements, then deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. Email me and I will deal with it.
If you are not happy with how I have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
